INTERVENTIONS

Gulf Coast Recovery is please to bring you some very good news about interventions. According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), treatment does not need to be voluntary to be effective. This is good news for interventions due to their nature. Effective interventions are confrontational meetings with a drug or alcohol abuser who is convinced to seek treatment because of mounting consequences of getting loaded. Convincing a loved one to seek treatment can become a struggle if the loved one is defensive or unwilling to admit or see the alcohol or drug problem.

Family pressure and coercion can lead to treatment somewhat under protest but studies have found that this kind of support from the family can also be a major success factor. Pressure from other sources work as well. Clients may be coming to treatment under the advice or coordination of employers or the criminal justice system. Again these pressures often aid the recovery process despite initial resistance.

Gulf Coast Recovery offers a full service intervention plan that can range from simply being the ending point after an intervention to organizing you and your loved ones and guiding you through the intervention process.
